Birthday Star Freebie and Another Great Teacher Blog!

With the start of the school year I always seem to be working overtime (even more than normal!). This year is off to a great start though and I have an awesome group of new 4th graders! And I love that my sweet group from last year is still next door (in 5th grade now!) so I still get to see them all the time!

I have a couple of awesome freebies to share with you today and lots more in store that I'll be posting about in the next few weeks! Including a classroom tour! (I promise, I'll get it done sooner than last year's tour, which came at the very end of the year!)

I do have a little sneak peek of my writing wall though that was inspired by chicclassroomstyle:
3D glitter letters!!!

And I'm also loving my new colorful double borders! I loved my scrunchy borders from last year, but I just wanted to switch things up a bit! It's amazing how different my room looks this year just from a few little changes!! Ahh I can't wait to share pics! (After I take them, that is!)

Ok, now for the freebies!

This is my second year using these birthday stars and my kiddos love them! I just print, laminate, and tape to glow sticks! My kids love being able to pick one out on their birthday! I originally was thinking they would like to wear the glow stick bracelet, but last year they all just kept them taped to the glow stick!

The purple container was from the Target dollar spot last year, and I spray painted it purple to match my classroom chalkboard! Inside I put tissue paper and then a bunch of rice to hold the glow sticks in place! You can get them here in my tpt store! And I made them in 3 different fonts so you can choose which one you like best!

I got the idea to do these wonderful birthday star glow sticks from my sweet friend LeAnn! I've mentioned her on my blog several times before because she has given me so many wonderful ideas that I use in my own classroom!

Her blog is 4th Grade 4ever and if you haven't seen it yet you should definitely stop by and become a follower!

Plus, she has a great letter template that you can use for your class this week for 9/11 and she is offering it for free this weekend only! (9/7 - 9/8)

Click on the picture to get it from her tpt store! And while you're there you can also check out all of her wonderful "I Have, Who Has" games! I have many of them, including all the California region ones and I can't wait to use them with my students this year!

Hope you have all had a great start to the school year! I can't believe next week is already week 3!
