Halloween Catch Up!

So I am a little behind on my Halloween post, but I wanted to share a few pictures from the day!

I was inspired by a book fairy costume that I saw on Pinterest and decided to make my own book fairy costume for Halloween this year! It was super easy to make and did not require a lot of materials or time (although I felt completely horrible ripping pages out of books... thankfully only 2 were harmed in the making of this costume)! I picked up the ribbon, wand, and tiara from Michaels and just used hot glue to attach the book pages. I even made a mini-book and taped it to a necklace. It was such a fun costume to make and my kiddos loved it!

Also, for the past 3 years I have been having my students do pumpkin biography projects for the month of October. They all have to pick a biography book, and I have a good selection of biographies for students at different reading levels. After reading the biography, filling out a report answering various questions about their person, and writing a poem, they get to decorate a pumpkin to look like the person. These are always so much fun and the pumpkins turn out great!

Mozart

Jacques Cousteau

 Ferdinand Magellan

King Tut

There were lots more wonderful pumpkins, but this is just a small sample of them!

I am linking up with Miss Nelson for her October Teacher's Gonna Snap Linky Party!

She has such a fabulous blog with lots of wonderful ideas! Make sure you check it out and you can link up to share pictures from your classroom during the month of October as well!
