Class Clipboards!

I am so excited to finally have finished one of the big projects I had been planning for since summer! I bought a class set of clipboards back before school began with the intention of modge-podging some pretty paper on them and adding some colorful ribbons and all that jazz. Well, the clipboards sat in my garage for several months before I finally decided I needed to take them out and get to work! After lots of thinking (and trying to minimize the time I would have to put into making them), I decided to do without the pretty scrapbook paper for a few reasons.

1. I had a hard time finding paper that I really liked.
2. I can just imagine how messed up they would be by the end of the year thanks to some of my sweet kiddos.
3. Just doing ribbon was a whole lot easier!

So I just brought out the bags of ribbon I have (I love ribbon almost as much as I do glitter!), and set to work!
Thanks so much to Kristen for the adorable clipboards label! I love it and it goes perfectly with the colorful ribbons!

I am borrowing the whiteboard from my best friend's roommate (Thanks Rachel!), and the top of it was a little scratched, so I covered it up with some pretty polka dot ribbon! The clipboards basket (which I got from Target) fits perfectly underneath!

Closeup of some of the clipboards:

My students have been writing using their whiteboards as a hard surface when they've been sitting on the carpet for our writing mini-lessons, but I was anxious to give them another surface to write on so that they wouldn't scratch up their whiteboards.

I am SO happy with how these turned out! They were super simple to make, yet they added a nice touch of color and fun to my previously boring clipboards!

I'm linking up with Tara for her Monday Made It - December Edition!
She always makes the cutest things!

  6. Love the ribbon! Would like to see how it holds up compared to the Mod Podged paper. I know that my students would pick at the ribbon because they are picking at everything in my room.

  7. They can out so cute. The variety of ribbon sizes makes such a difference. That is certainly much simpler than the paper.
